Hey Guys!
Don’t you’ll just love this festive season? It sure is a treat for me with work holidays, good food, festivities and of course, the fun get togethers!! But one perpetual worry for us girls, is What To Wear! We all want to look pretty & ‘Desi’ but we don’t want to run around choosing the outfits due to lack of time specially for girls who work day jobs like me! Recently I walked into a W for Woman store and I was taken by surprise at the variety they offered!! They had everything, from semi formal lehengas to palazzo pants and kurtis to dresses with capes. All of this with a lovely touch of desi-ness! 😉
I decided to compile some looks that I would personally wear for different Diwali functions right from lunching at my relatives house to a Diwali bonfire party with friends.

Four Days Of Diwali With W

Day 1: Dhanteras

We were expecting a few guests over, to attend the puja & eat yummy food!
I picked this easy-peasy outfit as the cropped pants would help me run errands too!

Day 2 : Laxmi Puja (Diwali)

I can’t wait to attend a fun get together at a friend’s house where we have a Diwali Cards Party late afternoon followed by a bonfire at night!
I picked this comfortable dress with a cape as it would be easy to handle with bonfire/firecrackers around & the embroidered cape adds that Indian touch too!

Day 3 : Diwali

Diwali in many households is celebrated over two days. My mum and I decorate the entire house with diyas and marigold flowers making our house look so beautiful!
I picked this Kurta with a skirt set. I’m sure it will be super easy for me to bend down with the long skirt covering me up, while I literally squat all over the floor to make Rangolis outside the house!

Day 4 : Bhai Dooj

Being Bengali, we celebrate Bhai Dooj over Raksha Bandhan but the customs are basically one and the same honestly. My family and I are invited to my cousin’s house so that we siblings could pamper the Brothers & also bag some fancy gifts in return! This bright orange kurta, paired with gold palazzo pants & gold dupatta will make me look “Marriage-Material” in front of my relatives, much to my mum’s delight!
